The Children's Society East

We work with young people and their families in Essex, Hertfordshire and Norfolk.

Whatever you're going through, we encourage you to make positive choices. If you think you're in an unhealthy relationship, you're worried about your parents' drinking, or you're looking for employment or training, we've got you covered.

Through a range of positive activities we can increase your confidence, develop life skills and build your emotional resilience.

What we can help with

Our services can help with a range of issues:

Drug and alcohol use

  • EYPDAS supports young people below 25 who are affected by substance use, either their own or someone else's.
  • CHHAT supports young people aged 8-19 who live with parents who have drug or alcohol addiction.
  • Family Support Group helps families or friends over 18 dealing with drug addiction.

Essex services

Education and employment

  • Inside Out coaches young people aged 14-18 who have had multiple care placements.
  • NEET helps young people aged 16-18 get back into education and employment.

Exploitation

  • C.A.R.E. supports young people aged 8-24 who may be at risk of exploitation.
  • Safe in Essex supports young people aged 8-19 who may need help staying safe online or building healthy relationships.

Most importantly, our Essex Participation group are involved in the decisions that affect the young people we work with. So young voices are at the heart of what we do.
