Boys and Young Men
Supporting boys and young men aged 8-24 years, across Essex.
Offering professional support and advice around gendered issues. Identifying positive male role models whilst challenging male stereotypes.
How we do it
Our work gives boys and young men the ability to feel comfortable and safe speaking to a supportive figure, and looks to increase the amount of males accessing services. Typical support needs for males may include experiences of isolation, feeling unsafe in their community, safe use of online spaces, problematic relationships and/or friendships, risks related to weapon carrying, or exploitation concerns.
We can work on an individual 1-1 basis with young people, as well as through targeted group work with a cohort identified as needing support around these issues. We can also offer support at events or targeted workshops, and support for parents/carers through our internal family support team.
Our goal
We work with the aim to see improvements in the safety, wellbeing and engagement of Boys and Young Men. We also aim to support them to speak out and have their voices heard.
How do I access the Boys and Young Men's support?
We accept referrals from any agency and/or individual working with a child, young person or family affected.
