Volunteer Co-Ordinator (Essex) Maternity Cover
Fixed Term contract until 31st March 2027 35 hours per week, £30,600 per annum.
We are looking for an individual who has experience in working as a Volunteer Coordinator. You will be part of The Children’s Society East Team. This is a multi-disciplinary team comprised of several projects who work together to support children and young people affected by a range of issues across East Anglia. The role will support and lead Volunteers in their role; offering advice, guidance and practical support around issues including parental substance misuse, parental mental health, domestic violence and offending behaviour, tenancy support, participation, group support and supporting practitioners in 121 sessions where a second support worker is required. You will also manage and coordinate the members of our volunteering team to deliver direct support and develop links within the community.

Substance Misuse Practitioner MATERNITY COVER (North Essex)
Fixed Term contract, 35 hours per week, £29,855 per annum
We wish to recruit a Maternity Cover Substance Misuse Practitioner to join the established All Age Recovery Co-ordination Service (AARCS), which we deliver in partnership with Open Road, supporting young people, adults and families affected by substance misuse. You will undertake individual assessments and risk assessment with young people up to the age of 25, developing a person-centred care plan specific to that young person and their needs and supporting them through their recovery journey with the service. This will be delivered through a range of tailored interventions, in both a one to one and/or targeted group work capacity. This role sits within our children and families directorate, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for young people who urgently need support. Your role will be to help us maintain and develop innovative practice to support our work in our services within the Essex area.

CARE Together Boys and Young Men's Worker (Countywide)
Permanent with funding ending 31st March 2027, 35 hours per week, £29,855 per annum
We wish to recruit a specialist Boys and Young Mens worker to join our established Essex CARE (Child At Risk of Exploitation) Together team, supporting male young people aged 8-25 who are at medium risk of exploitation; criminal, sexual, financial or domestic servitude. You will provide direct therapeutic support to vulnerable young males and support and signpost families who are affected by exploitation. You will provide professional expertise in various panels that review individual risk as well as offer training and resources for other professionals supporting potentially exploited young people. Support offered will include one to one face to face interventions, targeted group work & online support across the County as well as consultation with professionals.
The young people will require a skilled practitioner who is experienced in working with hard to reach, vulnerable young people at risk through the use of therapeutic approaches. You should have experience of facilitating groups or delivering training with knowledge of the issues and legislation affecting young people who are at risk of exploitation.
