Support us in your church
Churches are vital in helping us be there for young people who are hanging on to hope. Through fundraising, campaigning, awareness-raising and prayer, you are helping improve the lives of children who grow up in poverty, get abused or neglected, or struggle with mental health.
We are hugely grateful for your support. Any way you can get involved will make a big difference.
Jesus loved and valued children
Since our foundation in 1881 by Edward Rudolf, a Sunday school teacher in South London, we have partnered with churches across the country to improve the lives of children and young people.
Jesus loved and valued children (Mark 10.13-16) and gospel values are fundamental to our vision. All young people deserve every chance in life. We put the needs of children first and we help get young voices heard.
Here are some ways you can support us in your church.
Fundraise
From coffee mornings and bake sales to Christingles and church collection boxes, there are so many creative ways to bring your community together and raise money for young people.
Church resources
If you're looking for service ideas or conversation starters to use in your church or community, we have developed worship and discussion resources on all areas of our work.
Volunteering with your church
Volunteer
Our volunteers are so important to the work we do. Any time you can give, however small, is a huge help.
You can volunteer in your church by organising a Christingle for your community. Or, if you'd like to spread the word of our work, you could become a volunteer speaker.
We also always need people to coordinate our collection boxes. We have roles whatever your skills and time commitment.
Campaign for children
Jesus spent his life breaking down barriers and speaking out against all that made people less than human. We do the same. We actively campaign for positive change that young people need to see.
raising awareness
Raise awareness
Want to help raise awareness in your church about the vital work we do? Below we've laid out a few ways you can do so:
- Invite one of our knowledgeable volunteer speakers to talk on the issues affecting children and young people
- Use our free downloadable resources to help your church, youth group or Church school engage with our work and to discuss issues affecting young people. You can also order physical copies of resources, including posters, bookmarks and campaign booklets.
- Plan an event around key moments in the Church calendar, such as Mothering Sunday and Christingle.
- Sign up for our monthly prayers and give readings that are related to different areas of our work.
You can also get in touch by emailing our church team or keep up with the latest news by following us on Twitter @ChildSocChurch.
Christingle
Christingle is a beloved Christmas tradition in many churches. It is a hopeful, joy-filled celebration that draws together communities and raises vital amounts for young people.
