- doing a street collection

Ideas for your event
Struggling to think what to do for your fundraiser? Our wonderful supporters have tried it all, here’s an A-Z of fundraising ideas to get inspired.
Your friends and family are there to get behind you, and when you’re passionate about something this gets people onboard!
What can really draw people in is the opportunity to learn a new skill like a crafts night or some light-hearted competition like a pub quiz or sweepstake. You know yourself and your network best, what would resonate with them?
We have everything you need to get started, including fundraising materials and event resources like bunting and leaflets. We’ll provide guidance on licences, insurance and health and safety to help your event run smoothly. We can also help you take contactless donations on the day through GiveStar, using just your phone. Easy, right?
Ready to get started? Register your fundraising event and we’ll provide resources, advice and support.
Hope blooms here
Open your garden this summer and bring your community together in support of our vital work. You could hold an open day or a plant sale, invite everyone to a picnic, or even host a live band. Simply by bringing your community together, you can raise funds that will help The Children’s Society be there for more young people with the early support they need to grow hope for the future
As a thank you, everyone who registers will receive free seeds from our partners at Fothergill’s, the UK’s leading gardening experts – included in your welcome pack.
Paying in donations
Once you've decided what you'd like to do, you can set up a JustGiving page. This makes it quick and easy to collect donations online.
As soon as your fundraising page is set up, be sure to update your page description with your plans and connection to The Children’s Society. Add photos to make the page feel extra personal. Then get sharing the link with friends and family and watch your fundraising grow. All the money you raise will go straight to us, you don't need to do anything else.
If you're planning to collect cash donations, we have guidance on other ways you can pay in. Don’t forget, you can also collect donations on the day of your event using just your phone through GiveStar.
