Help us protect children through the cost of living crisis

More than a third of children in the UK are living in poverty. Going to bed hungry, cold or living in houses that aren’t safe. The cost of living crisis is pushing even more families to the brink. Our project workers do what they can to help, but families need more support. The government must take urgent action to protect children and give them the best possible childhood.

Protecting families

In October, you helped us make sure the government would raise benefits in line with inflation. This will prevent 200,000 children falling into poverty.

But families are struggling and need urgent help right now.

People's incomes are not keeping up with rising rent, household costs, fuel and food bills. Parents are getting halfway through the month and running out of money.

Campaign with us

We need to push the Government further, to help families with the rising cost of living.

We have three main asks that could change the lives of thousands of people:

  1. Free school meals for all families on Universal Credit
  2. Increase child benefits
  3. More funding for crisis support

Fighting child poverty

Every child deserves the best possible start in life. However, children in poverty have to work so much harder to fulfil their potential.

We see the struggles they face every day. Children absorb the worries of their parents. They're anxious about money, scared about the future, more at risk of being exploited.

Our projects workers are there, making sure they have the basics, picking up the phone when they call, empowering them to stay safe. But now more than ever, we need to come together to build the future that they deserve.

We’re sat shivering every night... We’re sat shivering every night...
