Responding to increasing demand
Responding to increasing demand
Young people are facing growing mental health challenges while waiting longer for support. Increasing demand is placing pressure on services across health, local authority, and police and justice systems.
Online therapy can provide accessible early support for young people aged 11 to 25, helping organisations improve access to safe, effective therapeutic support before needs escalate.
Where appropriate and following assessment, it will be suitable for early support, waiting list support, and stepdown pathways.
Accessible online therapy for young people
The service provides structured therapeutic support that can be integrated into existing early support and emotional wellbeing pathways.
It increases young people’s wellbeing by supporting them with challenges such as:
- worry and stress
- low mood
- emotional regulation difficulties
- self-esteem and confidence
- relationships and social pressures
- school, college or work -related pressures.
Accessible online therapy for young people
Following assessment, young people are allocated a qualified therapist. They will see the same practitioner throughout treatment, aiding consistency and trust. Therapy is delivered through full 50-minute sessions for up to 12 sessions, with signposting and onward planning provided.

Specialists directly supporting young people
Britain’s teens are the unhappiest in Europe. Too many experience poor mental health and emotional wellbeing, with support often not available until needs have escalated.
At The Children’s Society, we’re working to change that.
Through our work with children and young people, we build a deep understanding of the challenges they face and the support they need.
Our online therapy service has been developed to provide accessible, structured support earlier — helping young people access trusted therapeutic support before crisis point.
By working collaboratively with partners facing waiting list pressures, we will help more young people access support sooner.
