Mental health services are free on the NHS.
To get urgent medical help, use the NHS 111 online service, or call 111 if you’re unable to get help online.
Time for young people is our free emotional wellbeing support service for young people aged 10 - 25 who live or study in Coventry and Warwickshire.
Time for young people empowers young people to take time for themselves. You can press pause, breathe, and move forward. You can choose what support you access and when.
Our trained practitioners can help you if you’re feeling unhappy or are finding things difficult. Together, we’ll work through your problems to try and stop things getting worse.
Please register here if you wish to receive support. Once you have submitted your form, you will be able to walk into any of our drop-in locations below. When you arrive at the drop in, please inform us that you have registered - you will then be allocated a practitioner for a one-to-one for a session (up to 45 minutes). There is no waiting list for this service, and you do not need to book an appointment.
Whatever challenges you’re dealing with, you won’t be judged. Instead, you’ll get the tools you need to understand your emotions, build strong relationships, and feel stronger.
We can help you to develop new skills and provide resources to support your wellbeing. That might include finding strategies and techniques to make your life easier, like how to deal with anxious feelings, manage a panic attack or get better sleep. We might suggest you look at other online resources or support with signposting you to alternative services.
You can drop in on Wednesdays from 1pm-5:30pm at our Coventry City Centre site:
Central Library, Smithford Way, CV1 1FY
Drop in on Thursdays from 1pm-5:30pm at our Camphill Nuneaton site:
Camphill Children and Family Centre, Hollystiches Road, CV10 9QA
And on Fridays from 12:30pm-5:30pm at our Nuneaton Town Centre site:
Saints, Newdegate Street, CV11 4ED
At Time for young people, we won’t assess or diagnose any conditions you might be dealing with and we won’t automatically make referrals to other services. There may be times where we feel we need to speak to other people, services, or agencies about something you have told us – for example, if you’ve let us know that you or someone else is in danger. We’ll always try to speak to you about this first and let you know what we need to do.
Further support
We want to make sure that young people across Coventry & Warwickshire can get the support that's right for them. So, alongside our drop-in support, young people will be able to take part in group workshops, too.
You'll come together with other young people who are facing similar challenges to work on mental health and wellbeing skills. Sometimes, we'll run these sessions with other expert organisations like local youth centres.
We'll work flexibly to offer you and your group support in the areas where you feel you most need help. These sessions will run over four to six weeks. Together with your wellbeing practitioner, you'll work through goals, self-help strategies, resilience building, and more, so that you feel empowered to take control of your own wellbeing.
We'll also run educational workshops and awareness sessions for young people, their families, and professionals.
A mental health crisis is an emergency that has a direct and immediate threat to your physical and emotional safety. In a situation like this, it’s important to get help quickly.
Try to stay calm and ask someone for help. It could help to tell someone you trust, maybe a family member or a friend. They can be with you and help you decide what to do. They can also contact other services on your behalf.
If there is any immediate risk to life, contact the emergency services by calling 999.
