Connecting Opportunities
We work with new migrants age 15 and above to develop their skills and opportunities to find work and be part of the local community, in West Yorkshire and parts of North Yorkshire.
Opportunities
What we offer
We are one of the ten organisations specialised in providing you support across West Yorkshire and part of North Yorkshire (Craven, Harrogate, Selby and York) such as:
- Improving English
- Developing the skills needed to gain employment in the UK
- Increasing confidence and well-being
- Feeling part of the community
We also help out locally to make sure there are volunteer opportunities, mentors and befrienders, and employers providing work placements to help you get a foothold in the job market.
We provide mentoring
The service will provide mentoring for all new migrants to help you achieve your personal goals such as:
- Gaining confidence in using your conversational English language with someone who will not judge you
- Feel supported in accessing education and employment by helping with issues such as paperwork
- Gaining an in-depth understanding of the British culture through spending time in your local community
- Having a voice and advocating for yourself when you need to
