Rt Revd Tim Thornton
A member of our Board since September 2010, Bishop Tim is the fifteenth Bishop of the Diocese of Truro, which covers all of Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly, and two parishes in Devon. He is also a member of the House of Lords.
Throughout his career, Bishop Tim has been a governor of many schools, including Church of England infants and secondary schools, and independent schools in the public and private sectors.
Tim is Chair of the Board and sits on the Organisational Development Committee.
Adrian has extensive private sector experience and is now Chief Executive at MHA, an organisation providing care, accommodation and support services for older people.
A member of our Board since September 2010, Adrian is a member of the Finance and Investment Committee and the participation champion on the board.
Ken is an independent consultant, working with larger charities on strategy, governance and impact assessment.
A member of our Board since September 2010, Ken is a member of the Organisational Development Committee.
Wes joined our Board in September 2011 and was Director of Children’s Services (UK) at the NSPCC for seven years, until March 2011.
Wes is Chair of the Risk, Audit and Compliance Committee.
Chris has extensive experience in financial services and the charity sector.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and also a Member of the Institute of Directors. Chris held several senior Director positions within the Zurich Group, the final one as Chief Growth Officer of Global Life which has 10,000 employees and 30 million customers. Chris is a member of the Risk, Audit and Compliance Committee, Chair of the Finance and Investment Committee and is our Honorary Treasurer.
Rt Revd Libby Lane
The Rt Revd Libby Lane became the Church of England’s first woman bishop at a service in York Minister in 2015. She serves as the Bishop of Stockport in the Diocese of Chester.
Bishop Libby has also served as chaplain in a hospital and in further education in the Diocese of York.
Jessica is a barrister specialising in family law and has 14 years of experience representing children. She stood down as Conservative MP for Erewash at the May 2015 general election.
Jessica joined the Board in September 2015 and is a member of the Risk, Audit and Compliance Committee.
Janet has spent more than 30 years in the legal profession and is a former Senior Partner and Chair of DLA Piper. Her trusteeships include Leadership Foundation for Higher Education and Audit Committee of the University of Cambridge.
Janet has been Vice Chair of the Board since September 2013 and is a member of the Finance and Investment Committee.
Cindy is a Chartered Accountant and Deputy Vice Principle – Finance and Strategic Planning at City and Islington College. She has worked in the commercial sector for more than 20 years, recently as Vice President for Finance at EMI Music Ltd.
A member of our Board since September 2010, Cindy is a member of the Organisational Development Committee and the Risk, Audit and Compliance Committee. She is also the diversity champion on the board.
Dianne has more than 30 years of experience working in a variety of services for children and young people. She has been Director of Children's Services in two local authorities, and is currently working as an independent consultant.
A member of our Board since September 2011, Dianne is a member of the Risk, Audit and Compliance Committee.
Cllr Claudia Webbe
Claudia is Chair of Operation Trident, an anti-gun crime initiative that she founded with others in 1998. She is a board member of London Crimestoppers and a member of the Home Secretary’s round table on guns, gangs and knives.
A member of our Board since September 2008, Claudia is a member of the Risk, Audit and Compliance Committee.
Martin has extensive experience working in Human Resources for commercial organisations for the last 25 years and is active in his local church.
A member of our Board since September 2010, Martin chairs the Organisational Development Committee and is a member of the Finance and Investment Committee.
