Trustee Board members
Rt Revd Tim Thornton
A member of our Board since September 2010, Bishop Tim is the fifteenth Bishop of the Diocese of Truro, which covers all of Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly, and two parishes in Devon. He is also a member of the House of Lords.
Throughout his career, Bishop Tim has been a governor of many schools, including Church of England infants and secondary schools, and independent schools in the public and private sectors.
Tim is Chair of the Board.
Adrian has extensive private sector experience and is now Chief Executive at The Papworth Trust, an organisation working with people with disabilities.
A member of our Board since September 2010, Adrian is Chair of the Fundraising and Marketing Committee.
Wes joined our Board in September 2011 and was Director of Children’s Services (UK) at the NSPCC for seven years, until March 2011.
Wes is a member of the Standards Committee.
Thomas has extensive marketing and sales experience in international companies including Pepsico, Danone, Unilever and Innocent Drinks. He is currently Marketing Director for Mars UK and a fellow of the Marketing Society.
A member of our Board since September 2013, Thomas is a member of the Fundraising and Marketing Committee.
Janet has spent more than 30 years in the legal profession and is a former Senior Partner and Chair of DLA Piper. Her trusteeships include Leadership Foundation for Higher Education and Audit Committee of the University of Cambridge.
Janet has been Vice Chair of the Board since September 2013.
Richard retired after working for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) for 31 years. As national head of fundraising and communications at RNLI he had particular responsibility for regional, trust and local corporate fundraising, legacy promotion and events.
Since joining our Board for a second time in September 2012, Richard has been a member of the Fundraising and Marketing Committee.
Cindy is a Chartered Accountant and Deputy Vice Principle – Finance and Strategic Planning at City and Islington College. She has worked in the commercial sector for more than 20 years, recently as Vice President for Finance at EMI Music Ltd.
A member of our Board since September 2010, Cindy is a member of the Finance Committee.
Dianne has more than 30 years of experience working in a variety of services for children and young people. She has been Director of Children's Services in two local authorities, and is currently working as an independent consultant.
A member of our Board since September 2011, Dianne is Chair of the Standards Committee.
Sylvia has worked in the private, public and voluntary sectors. In the private sector she was an industrial relations negotiator in the Engineering Industry. In the public sector she worked at HM Treasury, including a two year spell on secondment as the first Deputy Director of the Sure Start programme.
A member of our Board since September 2009, Sylvia is Honorary Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee.
Cllr Claudia Webbe
Claudia is Chair of Operation Trident, an anti-gun crime initiative that she founded with others in 1998. She is a board member of London Crimestoppers and a member of the Home Secretary’s round table on guns, gangs and knives.
A member of our Board since September 2008, Claudia is a member of the Standards Committee.
Martin has extensive experience working in Human Resources for commercial organisations for the last 25 years and is active in his local church.
A member of our Board since September 2010, Martin is a member of the Finance Committee.
