Thousands of volunteers across the country give their time to help tackle the root causes of poverty, neglect and crisis that affect young people's lives.

If you're interested in volunteering, we have a wide range of roles avaialable.

We appreciate the efforts of volunteers across our organisation. Here's a summary of the different volunteering roles:

Support children and young people

These roles, often based at our programmes and children's centres across the country, range from helping run a 'stay and play' session with young children and parents to offering one-to-one mentoring support for a young person who needs someone to rely on.

Speak about our work at local events

By using their skills and passion to reach out to audiences young and old in their community, volunteer speakers raise awareness and support for our work.

Volunteer in one of our shops

We have over 80 shops across the country, with around 2000 volunteers who generously give their time each week. Last year, they helped raise £5.9 million by selling donated goods through our retail shops.

Support our fundraising activities

Thousands of wonderful volunteer fundraisers help generate vital funds to support our work with children and young people.

Roles include helping co-ordinate local collection box holders, joining a committee that organises local fundraising events, and supporting athletes at events such as the London Marathon.
