Our volunteer internships are usually three months long and designed to be between 10 and 20 hours a week. The objectives of each role are all based around the completion of a particular project that allow your contribution to be of value to our organisation and your career.

All of our volunteer internships are part-time, designed to fit around your other commitments. We have previously had interns in a variety of roles such as marketing, policy, research, campaigns, events and communications. Occassionally, we have roles on offer within some of our children and young people’s services.

What are the benefits of becoming a volunteer intern?

Our interns benefit from a broad programme of learning and development opportunities including:

  • Induction day
  • Meeting skills training
  • Effectiveness in the workplace training
  • Making the most of your internship skills session
  • Presentation skills
  • An extensive programme of online learning
  • An evaluation and graduation ceremony at the end of the programme
  • Support for your personal development
  • Expenses for lunch (up to £5 a day) and reasonable travel expenses

Opportunities to interact with other teams and often other charities are built into the projects, providing a broad insight into how a national charity operates as well as a perspective on the sector as a whole, and a wide network of contacts.
