These reports were written for the Luton Safeguarding Children Board as part of a review of research and practice around adolescent neglect.

The full review report describes the challenges for defining and working with adolescent neglect, looks at the impacts of neglect, and explains how it can be identified, assessed and responded to in practice.

The briefing for professionals provides a summary of key points on why adolescent neglect is important, when it is more likely to happen, what to look for and how to respond. It is aimed at all frontline practitioners whose work may bring them into contact with young people and parents or carers.
