One of the biggest problems facing attempts to tackle child trafficking is the lack of accurate data and the conflict of interest in the UKBA's role in assessing victims of trafficking. Therefore, we fully support the call for an independent national rapporteur on trafficking to be established, and this role should be accountable to parliament to ensure the systematic collection, monitoring and analysis of data around trafficking.
