Advocacy service for children and young people who are looked after and living in many different places

The Nottingham Advocacy Service is an independent and confidential service in Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City for children and young people who are looked after and living in lots of different places. 

What does the advocacy service provide?

This is an issue-based advocacy service. It includes regular planned visits to all ‘looked after children’ placed in residential accommodation and regular visiting service to Clayfields Secure Children’s Home to provide independent advocates for the young people.

What does an Advocate do for young people?

An Advocate may:

  • Help sort out the young person's problems
  • Listen and help them to understand their rights
  • Help to ensure they are treated fairly
  • Help provide a voice for the young person
  • Help to ensure others are listening to what they have to say
