For children living in families where parents are affected by drugs or alcohol use, life can be extremely challenging

These children are often affected by domestic violence, poverty, low self-esteem and child sexual exploitation.

With a lack of dedicated services and funding to address this area, we are leading the way in developing programmes to identify and support these children.

Services for children affected by substance use

● EYPDAS: Essex Young People's Drug and Alcohol Service

EYPDAS is a service in Essex providing support and treatment intervention for young people affected by substance use. 

● CHHAT: Community Hidden Harm Awareness Team

Supporting young people aged 8-19 impacted by parental substance misuse.

● Include

Our Include service is home to the national young carers initiative supporting children and young people who care for parents, siblings or others who suffer from chronic illness or disability.

● CheckPoint

Devon and Torbay support services for a range of issues, including substance use, for young people under the age of 18.

● CAPE: Children of Alcoholic Parents Engagement

A national capacity building programme for professionals who work with and support children affected by parental alcohol misuse.
