What is Safe Zones?

Safe Zones provide short term interventions for young people aged 13 – 18 years old suffering from mental health problems. The support will be a combination of youth work and therapeutic support.

The Safe Zones are situated across Greater Manchester and will support the NHS Rapid Response Team by offering a stepped down approach to young people who are dealing with mental health issues. 

Who is the service for?

Manchester Safe Zones is for young people aged 13 – 18. In addition, support will also be provided to parents and carers to help their child with their mental health.

What does it provide?

  • Tailor-made sessions which meet the individual needs of the young person
  • Solution focused approach working
  • Practical sessions around getting to know you
  • Youth work approach using activities to encourage talking

How can Safe Zones be accessed?

For the first year, access will be by referral only from the local Rapid Response Teams.
