5 ways to fundraise for Tough n Buff

If you’ve become one of our amazing Tough n Buff participants, you’re probably focused on nailing those daily targets and feeling the burn. But let’s not forget the most important part of Tough n Buff – raising money for vulnerable children.

Now we know that fundraising can be a daunting task, as many people just don’t like parting with their cash. However, fear not. We have over a century of experience in fundraising and we’ve come up with some fun ideas to get your JustGiving page in Tough n Buff shape:

1. ASK

We might as well start with the basics… as the saying goes: ‘you don’t get what you don’t ask for’. Make sure you’ve told all your friends, family, co-workers, neighbours, and fellow bus passengers about your Tough n Buff challenge – and ask (nicely) if they would be happy to sponsor you. Every penny helps.

2. Use social media

Take a break from sending Candy Crush invites and put your social media accounts to good use. Give daily updates on all your channels of your progress, either through text, pictures or video. The more people see you putting the work in, the more likely they are to donate.

Also, you might even feature on our channels.

3. Day’s exercise in the office

One for the extroverts among you, try doing one of your exercise days in the office. It’s an excellent way to prove that it’s not as easy as it looks and you can push for sponsorship afterwards. Bonus points if you manage to get your boss to have a go.

4. Shame

Remember how all those people SAID they were going to give £10 but never followed through? Maybe a bit of shaming on social media will give them the nudge they need. Of course, try to be as nice as possible with your shaming – they’re still your friends, after all.

5. Donate to yourself

If you know fundraising isn’t your thing and you’d rather just enjoy Tough n Buff without the pressure, you can make a onetime donation yourself.

By giving just £30, you’ll help support our work with children across the UK and it can be done in less than five minutes – easy.

Don’t forget your #FitnessFace
