Will power: Make the future brighter by leaving a legacy

We recently received a very generous gift of £110,277 from the will of Arthur Smith of Bretforton. A vale of Evesham market gardener, Mr Smith's £1 million estate was finalised last autumn

We were thrilled to learn of Mr Smith's gift to support our work. Mr Smith was a known supporter of The Children’s Society and used one of our collection boxes at home.

Among other bequests, Mr Smith chose to share his estate with the Salvation Army, St John Ambulance, Macmillan Cancer Support, Friends of Evesham Community Hospital, Mind, Mencap, Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust, St Richard’s Hospice and us.

You can help make the future brighter

Did you know that gifts in wills account for a third of our income from individuals? We rely on these gifts to carry on helping thousands of vulnerable children and young people across the country.

Without gifts in wills, much of the vital work carried out by our programmes, projects and children's centres would not be possible.

We have received gifts in all shapes and sizes, from large and small sums of money to a collection of fine jewellery. Every penny helps to make the future brighter for children across the country.

To learn more about supporting our work in this special way, please contact Supporter Care by telephone (0300 303 7000) or by email.
