Interactive story: what would you do if your child ran away?

Every seven minutes, a child in the UK goes missing or runs away from home or care.

If you think your child has gone missing, would you know what to do? Navigate our interactive journey and discover the best steps to take if you do suspect your child has run away.

It can be a really difficult time for both a child and a parent when a young person runs away.

We are sector leaders in providing support for missing children and have done extensive research on the reasons for running away from home. Most people run away because they feel they have no choice. These young people may be experiencing family problems, they may have problems with substance abuse, or they may be a victim of exploitation.

It's important to understand the reasons young people run away and be able to spot the signposts.
