Video: Young people, parents talk about our work in the West Midlands

Yesterday we launched The Children's Society in the West Midlands, which features our new Children and Family Zone in North Solihull, which will offer families and children continuous support from birth until they start work or begin higher education.

The West Midlands is our newest priority region, covering the seven urban local authorities in the area, combining committed, expert local staff working intensively at the heart of the community with the support that comes from being part of a large, national organisation.

At our launch event, young people, parents and our area director spoke to us about the importance of our current work. Their comments included:

  • 'They've been an absolute lifeline'
  • 'This place really helped me get a bit of confidence back in me'
  • 'They've given me different coping skills and more confidence'

Please watch our video to watch Rob, Chloe, Latasha, Shannon and Rachel talk about our work.
