Our blog has been nominated for 'Best Blog'!

We received some great news about our blog. We’ve been nominated for best blog in the Social Buzz Awards. Your support - including visiting and reading the blog, sharing stories on Twitter and Facebook, and writing for the blog - has had a big effect.

Our application for the award concerned the way our blog and social media talk about what we're doing across our organisation. After redeveloping our blog late last year to feature our authors, and better use of photographs and interactive content, we also used our social media channels - Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and YouTube - to share stories, information and to make it easy to get involved in our work.

Some key stats from the first eight months our redeveloped blog was live (December 2012-July 2013) include:

  • helping boost overall website traffic by 34%
  • creating thousands of new social media connections
  • increasing traffic to the blog by 260%

The recipients of the awards will be announced on 28 November.

In any case, being nominated is a great honour. Your reading and sharing are huge factors in this nomination. Thank you.
