Our alternative Queen's speech

Tomorrow the Queen will open parliament in a traditional ceremony where she reads the government's proposed legislation for the coming year. The Queen’s speech will announce a whole set of new laws that will affect people up and down the country. We will be working with MPs, peers and government on the bills that are announced in the speech to try to deliver the best outcomes for children and young people.

The Queen doesn’t write the speech she will deliver on Wednesday - it’s written for her by the government. We here in the policy team wanted to share what we would include in the Queen’s speech.

Let us know what you think and what you would include in the Queen’s speech - tweet us at @ChildSocPol.

Thanks to Laura, Natalie, James, Iryna, Ilona and Sam for sharing what they think needs to change to improve outcomes for children and young people.
