Gospel singer urges carol singers to ‘grab fundraising buckets’

Carol singers across the country are being urged to raise money to tackle child sexual exploitation by gospel singer Lurine Cato.

The MOBO-Award winning performer has backed our fight against exploitation with a video of her singing ‘Silent Night’ alongside children from the London-based dance school, J’s Dance Factory.

She is encouraging people who want to help us to double the number of children we support who are at risk of, or affected by child sexual exploitation, to get together with a group of people and hold a carol singing event to raise money.

Lurine said: 'It is so important that people raise their voices and sing for this country’s most vulnerable children this Christmas. Often these children can’t speak out for themselves and are let down by the very people who should be protecting them.

'That’s why we all have to grab our coats and our fundraising buckets and bring joy to people in our communities while raising money for The Children’s Society so it can carry on its work.”

If you want to hold your own event then head over to our carol singing page to pick up free resources and inspiration for your event, including a song book full of popular Christmas carols.
