Give us tears, more tears Lord

Yesterday, we shared Jenny’s story, who we’ve supported recently. Today, we invite you to join us in prayer for young people across the country who face similar issues to Jenny.

Why? O Lord! Why?
The brokenness of this world breaks us.

Give us tears, more tears Lord,
for the horrific abuse children can face.

It is not right. It is not just. It is not fair.

Come, O Lord, come.
Into this brokenness, in the midst of the darkness.

May young people be able to turn to someone trusted;
instead of alcohol, anger and drugs.

Give us a hope and a future we can bring,
to every young child,
so they know they are precious in your sight.

Well-being and mental health

Most studies in the last 30 years have shown a straightforward, strong and positive correlation between personal participation in religious activity, like prayer, and well-being, most notably in the area of mental health. You can read more about this in Theo's recent summary of 139 academic studies into religion, well-being and mental health
