Four things that will make you want to relive your childhood summers

We're on a mission to lift disadvantaged children out of poverty and the challenging situations they find themselves in, and we can’t do it without your help.

This summer, we’re inviting you to remember your childhood by hosting a Big Summer DO in support of our work. Get your friends and family together, eat yummy food, have traditional drinks and play the games you did when you were a child.

You'll be joining others across the country raising money with their Big Summer DO for disadvantaged children at risk of losing their childhood too soon.

Have a look at some of our favourite childhood memories, along with a contrasting one of a young person who benefits from our work.

1. Slip 'n Slide

Even if it wasn't the shop-bought Slip 'n Slide, bombing down a big plastic sheet covered in washing up liquid seemed to be just as fun.

2. Skipping rope

It's amazing how many hours of fun you can have hopping with a big piece of string.

3. Making dens

Secret hide-outs made from sticks and Mum's freshly washed bed sheets were little sanctuaries as a child. (The more elaborate one in the photograph is closer to how I imagined my childhood den.)

4. Bike rides

Going on a bike ride with friends and siblings was the prelude to countless childhood antics.

Join the summer fun

Celebrate and recreate your favourite childhood memories by hosting your own Big Summer DO. Have fun while helping to bring childhood back to those who are in danger of losing theirs.

Leave a message in the comments section or on our Facebook page - we’d love to hear how you're bringing back childhood at your Big Summer DO.
