Bill Bailey, Alain de Botton and Rankin support Big Summer DO

We're fortunate to have several celebrities supporting our Big Summer DO this summer. Earlier in the month, Jo Joyner wrote a piece about her support. This week, four more celebrities share their thoughts and special childhood memories.

Childhood memories are at the heart of Big Summer DO, our campaign to encourage people across the country to get together with loved ones and have some summer fun, while at the same time helping raise funds.

All money you raise goes to support our work with the country's most vulnerable children. Together, we can help these vulnerable children to make some good memories of their own this summer.

Enjoy summer memories and observations from Bill Bailey, Alain de Botton and Rankin.

Bill Bailey

'Eating toffee apples on Weston Super-Mare beach in the rain, waiting for the tide to come in...'

Alain de Botton

'Most of our childhood is stored not in photos, but in certain biscuits, lights of day, smells, textures of carpet.'

Rankin

'I remember playing curby, a ball game, with all the kids on my street. Cars would slow down for us and it wasn't dangerous at all. I really loved the freedom we had.'
