Bake and Brew for Levi Roots!

Rags to riches celebrity Levi Roots has called on supporters to hold a Bake and Brew fundraising event to raise money so we can continue to support children and young people.

Encouraging people to hold a coffee morning or a cup cake party, no matter how big or small, Mr Roots has written a letter to supporters with some tips for people holding their own events.

Hold a Bake and Brew

Changing young lives can be a piece of cake

Get inspired

Many people have been 'inspired by the mighty Great British Bake Off' to have a go and create 'show-stopping strudels, flavour-packed pastries and rocking roulades' he says in his letter sent out last week.

'As an entrepreneur I like to see a return on my investments and taking time to mix up some good vibes, cook some sweet treats and arrange a Bake and Brew party is time well spent!

'It can be anything from a coffee morning in a community hall to a cupcake party with friends. It will also help The Children’s Society support the most vulnerable children and young people in our society who deserve a brighter future.

'I understand the life of kids on the streets so it’s a cause that’s close to my heart,' the letter reads.

Dragons' Den

Mr Roots came to the public’s attention when he successfully obtained £50,000 to expand his hot sauce business on the BBC’s The Dragons' Den. Since then he has seen his Reggae Reggae Sauce brand hit supermarket shelves across the country, written books and presented cookery programmes, and opened a new restaurant this year.

Our supporters can try out Mr Roots’ Chocolate Key Lime Pie recipe, which he promises will 'tantaslise the taste buds'. So go on, get your apron on and get baking!
