I grew up in a really tough time in Northern Ireland and I saw how hope helped our community get through this period. Hope encourages, hope inspires, hope dares to believe that tomorrow can be better. We see hope in the heart of every young person, even when that hope only hangs by a thread. We fight for young people to have hope, because it will give them the confidence to believe they can make a difference. When we empower young people to hope, we empower them to thrive, not just survive.
Executive Director, Diversity and Talent
I feel immense pride to work for an organisation that put's people at the heart, whether that's our internal teams, our supporters or the children and young people we serve. Hope connects us. We all have times when we need hope in our lives. Our work is about nurturing and giving hope to children and young people especially those who need it the most. When we have hope, we can keep going and find our way. Everyone deserves that.
Executive Director, Engagement and Income Generation
Growing up in one of the most disadvantaged communities in the country, I learned early in life how children’s potential is shaped by their environment. We play a crucial role helping build a society for all children – listening deeply to their needs and experiences, working directly with them to improve their situations and campaigning on issues that affect all generations. We nurture and build hope because hope is the difference between giving up and changing your life for the better.
Dara de Burca
Executive Director, Children and Young People
Imagine getting up every day knowing that you are a part of a community of amazingly talented people who care deeply about the young people our society often forgets. Imagine being part of amplifying their voice and sharing their truth. Imagine knowing the work you are a part of makes a real and lasting difference. This is why I love working for The Children's Society. Hope grows when there is someone in your corner, when someone has your back and believes in you. We fight for hope.
