Our impact: building hope

'My workers always listened to my side, my story'

We've worked with thousands of incredible young people this year. We enable them to break free from groomers, improve their mental health, rediscover hope.

As well as supporting young people directly, we also work with police, teachers, social workers and other professionals to change the systems that are not working for young people.

We reached 1,183 young people

'The more awareness that can be raised, the more we are likely to be able to safeguard young people. If we hadn’t had this [support] from The Children’s Society then it wouldn’t be as clear in terms of spotting signs and how to get help.' - VCS organisation

One young person we worked with commented; if it wasn't for the service, 'I think I’d probably be in prison or somewhere else.' With the support from their project worker, young people a the service can rediscovered their hope.

MORE ABOUT BEAM

Our vision and goal

By 2030, we will have overturned the damaging decline in children’s well-being.

There’s no going back for lots of young people in the post-Covid world, we have to look forward.

The Covid-19 pandemic has turned young people’s lives upside down. We need to help young people understand what they have been through and put them at the heart of the UK recovery. That’s why we’re determined to work with more young people this year and support them in whatever way they need.

'At the end of it, everything's going to be alright' - young person
