Pirates, gold, mystery and treasure!

13 August 2008

Do you fancy exploring Britain's most notorious medieval prison or uncovering secret tales of pirates and buccaneers? How about walking in the steps of Sir Francis Drake, showered in glory and gold? Well now you can do all these things and more – all in one day and all to support our vital work with children.

The Children's Society’s Walk & Explore adventure series is one of the best fundraising events you’ll ever do! There’s a choice of walking routes to suit all ages, free and discounted entry into lots of the sights along the way, costumed characters, quizzes and entertainment.

But more than that, Walk & Explore is a great community event. Supporters, volunteers and fundraisers, along with the children we work with, can all come together to show they care about their community.

So join us in September for the London or Bristol Walk & Explore adventures and celebrate your city by making childhood better for all children.

To register your place in advance call 0845 300 1128 or visit www.walkandexplore.org.uk - £10 for adults, £5 for children, under 2s free. The registration fee includes your Adventure Pack, medal and goody bag, the Young Explorers Case Book for children in your group, plus free entry into selected attractions.

Our vision to improve the lives of all children across the country is proudly supported by our headline sponsor, Ecclesiastical, who insure and protect some of the country’s most cherished buildings, ensuring future generations can enjoy our heritage together. On behalf of everyone at The Children's Society, we would like to thank Ecclesiastical for their incredible support over the last two years. We couldn’t have done it without you!

“A great day out exploring places I never knew existed! What made the day so special was the chance to support the children's society and to meet some of the amazing young people they help”

“'What a wonderful day we spent with our two young grandchildren. They loved solving the mysteries along the walk and being young detectives for the day!'
