Soaps stars get their knitters in a twist for The Children's Society

Emmerdale's Lucy Pargeter (Chas Dingle), Coronation Street's Jennie McAlpine (Fiz) and Casualty's James Redmond (Abs Denham) have all given their support to The Co-Operative Group's Big Stitch posing for photographs with red squares, knitting needles and bundles of red wool to encourage everyone to get knitting and help us break that world record.

Says Lucy, “ I really wanted to help as I’m a keen supporter of The Children’s Society. Knitting can be really sexy, especially when you’re going for a world record. Come on everyone – let’s get knitting. “
