Volunteer Support

How we support our volunteers

Local Staff

Our Community Fundraising Managers (CFMs) work to increase awareness of The Children's Society and develop fundraising activity in their region. They work closely with the volunteers in their area, providing training and support and arranging local get-togethers in the Diocese.

Chris Clarke : Chester, Manchester and Liverpool
Jane Ogden : Bradford, Carlisle, Wakefield and Ripon & Leeds
Bridget Woodall : York, Durham and Newcastle
Alan Beavan : Leicester, Peterborough and Coventry
Vanessa Jones : Bath & Wells, Truro and Exeter
Tony Brooks : Winchester and Salisbury
Peter Neale : St Edmundsbury, Ely and Norwich
Barbara D'Avino : Southwark, Rochester and Canterbury
Allan Baldwin : Birmingham and Lichfield
Sandi Deakin : Derby - Lincoln - Southwell and Sheffield
Rhyannon Boyd : Hereford, Worcester, Gloucester and Bristol
Katie Carson: London and Chelmsford
Catherine McNulty : Liverpool and Blackburn

Head Office Staff

Our Community Fundraising team at Head Office is responsible for ensuring that volunteers and supporters have access to the resources they need. We aim to make your role easier by
· ensuring that you have access to relevant and up-to-date volunteering and fundraising information on the Children's Society's website and in Volunteers Voice, our volunteer newsletter
· keeping you updated about The Children's Society's work and campaigns
· holding Regioanl Conferencesaround the country, giving you the chance to find out how your role makes a real difference to the children we work with
. providing all the materials and resources you need for successful fundraising

DP's (Diocesan Presidents)

As well as working to strengthen The Children's Society's profile in the Diocese and reinforce the organisation's Christian basis, Diocesan Presidents together with our Speakers (Diocescan Co-ordinators) give talks and presentations to encourage new support. Some will also organise regular diocesan meetings, giving our local volunteers the chance to get to know each other and share ideas and success stories.

Supporter Action

For many of you, Supporter Action will be your first point of contact with The Children's Society. We are a friendly and efficient team capable of dealing with anything from setting up your direct debit donations to organising your Kilimanjaro trek, ordering fundraising materials to arranging a speaker to come along to your local group and putting you in contact with a project should you wish to volunteer.
