Volunteer Opportunities

Do you enjoy meeting new people and sharing the things you feel passionate about? Do you feel a sense of satisfaction in knowing that you have done your bit to help? Would you like to develop a talent or learn new skills, as well as having a lot of fun along the way? If so, volunteering with The Children's Society could be for you. We offer a diverse range of activities that are flexible enough to suit your lifestyle, interests and availability:

Diocesan President
Are you a 'people's person' who enjoys relating to others and is good at building key relationships and influencing a range of community volunteers? Our Diocesan Presidents manage existing volunteers within the local community, providing them with advice, support and direction. They also liaise with senior officials in the church.

Speakers / Diocesan Co-Ordinators
Do you have the 'gift of the gab' and like getting up in front of a group of people to inspire them? We rely on passionate speakers to help raise awareness and increase financial support in their local community, primarily in churches but also schools and local groups.

Parish Co- Ordinators
Are you a bit of a networker and like to make new friends in your neighbourhood? By becoming one of our box collectors you will be responsible for organising collections in your church and local neighbourhood. You can also organise fun-filled events where you can meet and catch up with friends whilst raising money for children.

Box Holders
A simple and easy way to involve your family without investing too much effort would be to have a collection box in your home for those extra pennies. Once a year, your Local Box Collector will get in touch to collect it.

Project Volunteers
Children deserve special care given by special people. Our projects around the country are leaders in providing the kind of care and support that the most vulnerable children need. There are a small number of opportunities for volunteers to assist our trained experts in providing help to more children.

Shop Volunteers
Is fashion your passion? Perhaps you have an eye for design, like to organise stock or arrange window displays. If you've got a bit of spare time on your hands and want to put your skills to good use then why not volunteer in one of our shops? See where the shops are and if they have any opportunities.

Head Office and Support Volunteers
Have you always wanted to work for a charity but lacked the experience or expertise? Or do have some spare time to give for the good of others? Then why not enquire about volunteer opportunities available within a number of our departments in Head Office in North London and with regional staff.
