Time: 18.00 - 21.00
Our Annual Edward Rudolf Lecture was held on Thursday 25 September 2008. This year’s lecture Looking for Childhood: The Struggles of Children in Britain was presented by Camila Batmanghelidjh, Founder and Director of children’s charity Kids Company, best known for its work with vulnerable inner-city children.
The lecture, followed by an informal reception with refreshments, took place at Church House Conference Centre, Westminster in London.
This year’s lecture coincided with the run-up to the publication of The Good Childhood® Inquiry early next year. Commissioned by The Children’s Society, this is the UK's first independent inquiry into what makes for a good childhood today. By attending the lecture delegates took part in an exciting opportunity to contribute to the debate around Good Childhood and help to shape childhood in the future.
