Set 2: The Theme of Gifts

This set of resources follow the theme of gifts, represented in the symbols of the fruits used within the Christingle itself. The Christingle symbolises the gift of Creation; the gift of our relationships with friends, family and God; the gifts we know in ourselves- our skills and talents. Above all, it reminds us of the gift of the Christ-child, the hope of the world, and how The Children's Society works with children desperately in need of hope.

Step 1: Christingle countdown

Why not send out this calendar four weeks before your Christingle celebration as part of your invitation, to help build up anticipation in the run up to your celebration? Invitations are also available to send out.

Step 2: Activities for schools, children and young people

Choose from a range of fun activities for children that will allow you great opportunities to reach out into schools, youth groups and the wider community.

Step 3: The Christingle service

A sample Christingle service for you to use, or adapt to suit your requirements. We also have a service cover for you to use on the day.

Step 4: Service suggestions

Talks, readings and activity suggestions tailored to suit your service be it an Advent service, Christmas service or Epiphany service.

Step 5: Suggested Christingle music

A selection of hymns, songs and carols to suit your service.

Step 6: Christingle stories

A range of Christingle stories; Advent (The Little Tree Story), Christmas (The Sad Old Cow), and Epiphany (Princess Ayshia). These are ideal for explaining the Christingle message to young children.
