Case study - Campaign workshop with Trimedia Harrison Cowley
Trimedia Harrison Cowley utilised their skills and engaged young people from our Children’s Voice’s Project to help them get their voice heard at a local level…
Based in Tower Hamlets, our Children’s Voice project works with young people aged between 5-13. The children and young people recently began a project on hate crime and in particular the impact on the local community and the victims as well as looking at ways it can be prevented. The project wanted to get help on how the young people could influence local decision makers and through what means.
Daniel Cohen, Head of Consumer PR at Trimedia Harrison Cowley gave up his time to lead the workshop and worked with 6 of the young people involved. He put together activities to show the young people all the ways that they could campaign in their local area. He listened to their views and made sure the workshop was reflective of their needs.
"The experience was extremely rewarding, both personally and professionally. Here were children who don't have the easiest of backgrounds, but who wanted to be heard, who are willing to stand up and say no to hate crime but who needed help in putting their ideas into a cohesive plan. Compared with what they're trying do, my job was easy; I just provided them with the opportunity to voice what they already knew. Hopefully, together with the great team at The Children's Society Children's Voice, they will realise their plan and create a campaign which they can all be proud of."
Daniel Cohen, Trimedia Harrison Cowley
"Daniel did a brilliant job in interacting with the young people and the activities he did were really interesting, everyone really enjoyed the day and they came up with a tangible plan of what they want their campaign to look like."
