MCW Group and The Children's Society
MCW Group is a family business and chose to support The Children's Society as they recognise the issues that their staff value - giving every child the best chance of a good childhood. They understand that children in today's society need as much help and support through their young years as possible.
"MCW Group as a company has always given to charitable events, but we felt that we would like to adopt The Children's Society as our chosen charity for 2007 and have pledged to raise £10,000 in 2007. We have already arranged many forthcoming charity events - both within and outside of the company, in the heart of our local community. These include a Charity Golf Day and a summer fete. On a more personal note I have taken on the challenge to climb Mount Kilimanjaro! We are very excited to be associated with The Children's Society and look forward to the year ahead and aim to raise as much as possible!" Richard Morris - Managing Director
MCW Group Director takes the high road for charity

In 2007 MCW Group Director, Richard put his best foot forward and joined a group of adventurers on the challenge of a lifetime. He braved altitude sickness, the freezing cold, aching feet and perilous drops to take in the beauty of the surrounding country.
“Climbing up the Kibo, the highest (standing at nearly 6000 meters) of the three volcanoes in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania was without question the hardest physical and mental challenge I have ever under taken. Would I do it again? NO chance. Would I recommend others to do the Trek, absolutely YES! A life changing experience with a real fantastic bunch of people all committed in achieving the same goal. Thank you to the Children’s Society for the opportunity to go to one of the most beautiful and culturally interesting parts of the world.” Richard Morris, Managing Director
MCW Golf Day
On a sunny day in May, MCW Group took the golf course to raise more vital funds for their charity of the year partnership. There was golf, dinner and an energetic game of heads and tales! But as always there can only be one winner - Rupert Cade of Red Owl Training led the winning team and triumphed over the impressive 18 teams taking part!

MCW Group are now over half way to their target of £10,000 and the Charity Golf day went a long way in helping boost the fund. Companies from throughout the UK came to support the day including Community Wind Power, Gelert, Rathbones, Liberty Properties, Watkin Jones, saplings nursery, John Davies accountants, Anixter and many more.
‘We were astounded by the generosity of everyone taking part in the golf day. Initially we anticipated around 10 teams to take part but the response was exceptional and to have 18 teams play on the day was a great success. Northop Golf club were excellent hosts for the day also and we would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the day. We are now considering making the Charity Golf day an annual event for MCW Group!” Richard Morris – Managing Director
