Lilly and The Children's Society
The Children's Society is thrilled to have been chosen as Lilly UK's Charity of the Year for 2007.
This is the seventh year that Lilly has successfully delivered its Charity of the Year programme, which has so far raised over £140,000 for some very worthwhile causes.
We are extremely excited about working with Lilly and have been impressed at the high level of enthusiasm that Lilly staff are bringing to the partnership.
Fundraising activities
Three employees ran the London marathon this year raising £3,000 for The Children's Society. Other employees have put on a Mad Hatters Tea at Two Party in the staff canteen, a Make, Bake and Buy day, and departmental team challenges!
More recently, Lilly raised over £2,000 from their annual concert in Basingstoke. Several committed Lilly volunteers helped ensure our Young Carers Festival ran smoothly over the Summer and Lilly successfully organised a cross-site football fundraising competition.
A rugby World Cup sweepstake may be next on the agenda with a Christmas finale to come!
The Partnership
One of the reasons why The Children's Society was successful was because of our local presence. Our community projects will bring a face, a drive and impact to staff fundraising activities in their local areas.
The target is to raise £20,000 throughout the year, and even try and better this! All funds will be used to give children who have been deprived of a childhood, the opportunity to be children again and have a happy childhood.
