It's A Knockout!

After reaching our fundraising target of £1 million in just six months, The Children's Society and The Co-operative have a lot to celebrate! On Sunday 23 September, over 100 enthusiastic employees took part in an It's A Knockout competition in Heaton Park, Manchester.

Twelve teams from Funeralcare, Food Retail, Travelcare and Co-operative Financial Services battled it out in the rain, hoping to become the winning champions.

The event was a huge success and a great day out for all the family. The Children's Society is very grateful to all the young performers from local dance, martial arts and gymnastics societies, who volunteered to perform wonderful demonstrations on-stage for the public.

In the afternoon spectators were blown away by a live Battle of the Bands, hosted by celebrities from Shameless and Heartbeat. Manchester's talented musicians were competing for £300 music vouchers, kindly donated by Richer Sounds.
