After only six months, The Co-operative had already reached the fundraising target of £1 million!

How did The Co-operative raise £1 million in so little time?
Sarah Galligan, Client Relationship Director at The Children's Society, explains that the success is owed to employees within the different businesses, who have run their individual fundraising events. "It's been local people working in their own communities that have raised the money by holding car washes, balls, golf days and collecting donations at local stores."

It's not over yet! By Christmas employees hope to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the biggest Christmas stocking in the ever!
Guy McCracken, Chief Executive, The Co-operative Food, said: "We are thrilled that we have broken the £1 million barrier but the fundraising isn't stopping there. We will continue to support activities like The Big Stitch, we're not only taking part in a fantastic fundraising initiative but, more importantly, we're helping make a difference for thousands of children who face danger, discrimination or disadvantage in their daily lives."
