Parish Fundraising

Fundraising in your local church

Since The Church of England Central Home for Waifs and Strays was founded in 1881, the prayerful and financial support of parish churches has been the bedrock of our success.

Of the 16,000 Church of England parishes, 11,000 churches has shown their support in the following ways:

  • House Box Collections - We are indebted to our Parish Co-ordinators in churches who develop our House Box fundraising network which brings in an incredible £2 million each year.
  • Home-mission Giving - We are the only Anglican home mission agency focussed on social justice for children and we are grateful to the many parishes that choose to make us the focus of their home-mission giving.
  • Church Services - We hold special Christingle services, Carol Singing appeals, Church Collections and Evensongs to raise crucial funds and strengthen our ties with the Church, local schools and families.
  • Speakers - We organise speakers to act as representatives in parish churches to inform people about our work with children during congregations.
  • Parish donations - Individuals and parish groups regularly donate, often through fundraising events that range from coffee mornings to sky-diving!
