Start point: Tate Modern (SE1 9TG)
The Walk & Explore base camp will be easy to spot – just look out for lots of purple balloons, Children’s Society branded banners and marquees.
Start time: Please arrive between 9am – 11.30am on the event day to pick up your Adventure Pack (this contains your maps, route directions and quiz) and your Walker ID badge (this enables you to enter visitor attractions along the walking routes for free or at a discounted rate). Participants can decide which walking trail they would like to follow on their arrival at Tate Modern.
The walks officially start at 10.00am but participants are welcome to join the walks any time up until 11.30am.
Getting there
By Tube: Southwark (Jubilee Line), Blackfriars (District and Circle Lines) and St Paul’s (Central Line) are the closest underground stations. Tate Modern is approximately ten minutes walk away from each.
By train/bus: If coming by train to one of the over ground stations there are a number of bus services in the area:
RV1 between the Tower of London and Covent Garden
63 from Kings Cross to Blackfriars Bridge
381 from Waterloo to Southwark Street
344 from Liverpool St stopping on Southwark Bridge Road
