Canterbury Cathedral taken for The Children's Society
Thank you...

...to everyone who supported the very first Walk & Explore Canterbury event this year. The weather was perfect, lots of fun was had and most importantly, we raised lots of money to help fund our vital work with children– in short, a fantastic day!

Hopefully, lots of you will have raised sponsorship money to help fund our 58 projects around the country. If you’ve not already done so, you can pay in your sponsor money here.

For those that missed Walk & Explore Canterbury 2008, we will hopefully be back next year, so watch this space for more information! If you can't wait that long though, Walk & Explore London and Walk & Explore Bristol are still to come later this summer, so why not register today!

Walk & Explore Canterbury 2008

Walk & Explore Canterbury was a fantastic opportunity to explore the incredibly rich history of one of England's most historic cities.

Home to the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury, resting place of Henry IV and with a literary heritage that includes the likes of Chaucer and Marlowe, Canterbury has played a major role in the history of the Kingdom for thousands of years.

Both Walk & Explore routes encompass the city’s greatest sights, from the world-famous Cathedral to lesser-known gems like The Museum of Canterbury – home to Bagpuss, The Clangers and Rupert Bear!

With costumed characters telling the legends of Thomas Beckett and The Black Prince, Walk and Explore Canterbury will be an enthralling day, transporting you back through the city’s ancient history.

In addition to the walks themselves, there was lots of entertainment on offer. Our Art and Fun Tent hosted face -painting, games and arts and craft and there was live music, dance and much, much more.

Free and discounted attractions:

FREE ENTRY into Canterbury Cathedral
FREE ENTRY into The Canterbury Museum (home of Rupert Bear and The Clangers!)
