Welcome to Walk & Explore, The Children’s Society’s annual sponsored walking event. This year, Walk & Explore is all about raising money to help build bridges towards a better childhood for children and young people...

(c) The Children's Society

What better way to do that than by taking part in our flagship walking event in London that takes place on Saturday 11 September 2010. Or, why not organise your own walk wherever and whenever you like? Either way, your sponsorship will allow The Children's Society to continue creating a society where children can be children, childhood is respected and every child is valued for who they are.

Walk & Explore London

On Saturday 11 September, hundreds of supporters will once again join us at our Base Camp at the Tate Modern to embark on a sponsored walk through the historic heart of London. You are guaranteed to have a great time with your friends and family as you explore the streets of London, taking in many of its famous bridges, landmarks, churches and tourist attractions including The Mayor's Thames Festival (www.thamesfestival.org) , London's largest free arts festival which takes place on 11th and 12th September between the London Eye and Tower Bridge.

The walk, long a favourite with our supporters, will give the option to walk 1.5 miles, 5 miles or 10 miles so there is a distance to suit all ages and abilities.

Walk & Explore London really is a fantastic day out for everyone and together with your support and sponsorship; it really does make a huge difference to the work of The Children's Society.

Online registration has now closed for Walk and Explore London 2010. We have plenty of spaces left, to register by phone please contact us on 0845 300 1128.

The Children’s Society wants to create a society where children can be children, childhood is respected and every child is valued for who they are. We are resolute in our commitment to the most disadvantaged and those at risk. We challenge negative public attitudes towards children and are positive about what young people can achieve. Our approach is driven by the voices of children and young people, who are at the heart of all we do.
