Prayer

Prayer is a place where we meet God.

It is a place we go with our hopes and dreams of a better future for all children and ask God for that future to be realised.

In your personal devotional time or in church Sunday by Sunday, we invite you to join us in praying for that future. We invite you to pray for children and young people, our staff who do so much vital work and our volunteers, without whom nothing we do would be possible.

We hope these resources will inspire you and your congregation to pray for our work. Below are prayers that can be in your own devotional time or as part of your church service to remember the work of The Children’s Society.

Prayer of Thanksgiving
'Lord Jesus Christ to whom this world and its history belong...'

Prayer of Confession
'Forgive us Lord, for when we saw the runaway on the street...'

Prayer of Intercession
'Leader: To children denied the material goods that we take for granted, Lord you offer life...'

Prayer of Commitment
'We believe that because all children are loved by God, we must love all children...'

Good Childhood Prayer
'When your Kingdom comes will we notice...'

Prayer for refugees
'For those fleeing danger and looking for safety...'

Prayer for runaways
'Lord, Is it too much to ask...'
