What happens at a conversation?
Conversations are community-based events typically held in the evening but daytime events are also possible. Each event lasts around two hours. They are often held in a church, community hall, school or children’s centre.
Each event follows a similar format:
- Presentation - on the key findings of The Good Childhood Inquiry.
- Chat - people break into small groups to discuss key topics and explore the issues raised.
- Share your views - you can talk about what matters to you, whether this is friendships, family, the internet or the interaction between children and adults in communities.
- Want to be challenged? - conversations will help you to think about the attitudes you hold, where they come from and how they shape your relationship with children and young people.
