Frequently asked questions
Where are the Conversations happening?
In 2011 we have added six new diocese but the Conversations are not exclusively Church of England events.
The current 15 dioceses are:
- Bath and Wells
- Birmingham
- Blackburn
- Bradford
- Canterbury
- Bristol
- Ely
- Guildford
- Leicester
- Liverpool
- Newcastle
- Southwell and Nottingham
- Truro
- Wakefield
- Worcester
What type of venues are conversations held in?
Anywhere! The events are typically held in school halls, churches and children's centres. Wherever Conversations happen we want the local community to work together to ensure the highest number of people attend.
I want to be a host or a volunteer facilitator, who should I contact?
We will support you every step of the way in planning, publicising and facilitating the event. Visit our page on hosting a conversation for more information and details of who to contact.
Why are the Conversations only in some areas?
A national rollout would be more costly and would achieve less impact for us. One of our key objectives is to encourage a more positive attitude towards children and young people and this is best tracked through a targeted cluster of regional events. Keeping the rollout areas limited allows us to explore the messages and themes that come out of the conversations in greater depth.
What if there isn't an event in my area?
Please keep checking our upcoming conversations page to see where the Conversations are going next.
