Virgin London Marathon

Congratulations to all of our runners who took part in the 2012 Virgin London Marathon.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the 2012 Virgin London Marathon for The Children's Society. Your fundraising efforts will make a significant contribution to helping our work and we simply can't thank you enough. 

We had fantastic day; the crowds were electric and it turned out to be perfect running weather for (most) of our 75 runners who made their way around the course. Our cheering post at mile 23 1/2 mark, outside Bodean’s restaurant in Tower Hill, proved to be the perfect spot to cheer on our runners to get them through the last few miles.

Our post marathon party, at The Piccadilly Institute, quickly filled with our runner's excited friends and family all celebrating their fantastic achievements. Our wonderful massage volunteers worked non-stop giving well deserved massages as well as some ice baths to some very achy legs.

A huge thank you has to go out to all our volunteers who helped us on the day. Whether they were at our cheering post or our post marathon bash, we couldn't have done it without their support and enthusiasm.
