The Colourthon, Essex

Distance: 13.1 miles and other shorter distances

Age restrictions: Open to all ages but entrants under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian

The Colourthon is one of the premier fundraising events in Essex. There are 3 walking events to choose from, The Moonlight Colourthon, The Twilight Colourthon and The Sunlight Colourthon.

The Moonlight Colourthon is a walking half marathon (13.1 miles) held at night where walkers are encouraged to dress as brightly as their imagination will allow them to.

The Twilight Colourthon is a shorter 10k walk for those who want to get involved but don't quite fancy the full half marathon.

The Sunlight Colourthon is a great family event for under 16s who are encouraged to walk as many 0.25mile laps as they can, around the beautiful Rose Gardens within Chalkwell Park, which provide a lovely flat and even walking surface, easily accessible for everyone.
